Case & Video Submission Round

The participating teams are expected to submit an executive summary in 2-slider PPT format along with a 2-minute video to explain their solution in detail. The top 85 teams will move to the next round from all campuses.

Eligibility Criteria: The competition is open for all full-time 1st and 2nd-year MBA students, irrespective of the specializations they are pursuing. Students pursuing a full-time 1-year MBA program are also eligible to apply. Students currently pursuing part-time, distance learning, and executive MBA programs are not eligible to participate from the same list of B-Schools. 

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • The students have to register in teams of three.
  • The participants can be from any specialization.
  • They should be full-time students from the campus.
  • Cross-specialization teams are allowed to participate. 
  • Cross-year teams are allowed to participate.
  • One participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from a particular institute.
  • Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.

Competition Structure:

  • Treasure Hunt (This is not an elimination round - only for engagement): 
    • All registered students can solve the mysteries that lie ahead as they deduce the final key to the treasure.
    • Students will be able to access the treasure hunt from 12:00 PM, 30th October 2021 onwards.
    • They will be able to play the hunt from the competition page itself.
    • Hints for the hunt will be posted on @LifeatAirtel Instagram handle.
    • Teams won't be assessed based on this round. 
  • Case & Video Submission Round: 
    • Only registered teams can access the case study problem statement.
    • The participating teams are expected to submit an executive summary in 2-slider PPT format along with a 2-minute video to explain their solution in detail.
    • Submission format: zip file (PPT + MP4 video)
    • The case files and submission templates can be downloaded from the respective round.
    • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName
    • The top 85 teams will move to the next round from all campuses.
    • Team leaders need to upload this presentation/zip file latest by 15th November 2021, 06:00 AM.
  • Detailed Presentation Submission Round:
    • Shortlisted teams are required to deep-dive into the case and provide a detailed submission in form of a 10-slide PPT for their proposed solution.
    • Submission format: PDF or PPT file
    • The case files and submission templates can be downloaded from the respective round.
    • Team leaders need to submit their entries latest by 6th December 2021, 11:59 PM.
    • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName
    • The top 12 finalists team will be shortlisted for the Grand Finale.
    • Any changes in the timelines will be uploaded on our Instagram page @LifeatAirtel.
  • Design Thinking Workshop:
    • The top 12 national finalists will get a chance to attend a Design Thinking Workshop to prepare them for the Grand Finale. 
    • The complete details for the workshop will be shared with the finalist teams after the result declaration of the second round.
  • Grand Finale: The top 12 finalist teams will interact with the jury and showcase their detailed solution at the Grand Finale. All national finalists will get a chance to be featured on ET Now.

Rewards & Prizes:

  • The winning team will get prize money worth INR 10,00,000.
  • The runners-up team will get prize money worth INR 5,00,000.
  • The second runners-up team will get prize money worth INR 2,50,000.
  • All the winners will be getting a PPI or an incubation opportunity to work with Airtel Incubation Team on real-life assignments.
  • The next best 3 teams to receive consolation prizes.
  • Apart from this, there will be multiple prizes, goodies, vouchers for the campus and regional winners as well.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • In February 2021, Airtel agreed to acquire a 20% stake in Bharti Telemedia from Warburg Pincus.
  • Telenor India: In the 1st quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel acquired a formal approval from Securities and Exchange Board of India for the acquisition of Telenor India, from which the telecommunication giant gained 43.4 MHz spectrum in the 1800 MHz band.
  • Tikona Digital Networks: In the 2nd quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel completed the acquisition of Tikona Digital Networks Private Limited for approximately Rs. 1600 crore. This gave Airtel access to the latter’s 350 cellular sites in 5 circles.
  • Millicom International Cellular: In the 3rd quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel Rwanda acquired Millicom International Cellular to combine their telecommunications operations in Ghana. This acquisition was approved by Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) in the 4th quarter of the FY 2017-18.
