Myntra Stylbiz 2021: The B-School Challenge: Stages and Timelines

Phase 1: Ideation

Access the case study and pick any one or a maximum of two problem statements of your choice from the category. Think out of the box to come up with an interesting solution. While doing so, please bear in mind that if your idea is shortlisted, you will be working on an implementation plan in Phase 2.

Phase 2: The Semi-Finals

Shortlisted teams will focus on the depth and details of their solution(s) during this phase in a PPT not exceeding 10 slides. They will provide a holistic approach towards the implementation of the ideas presented in Phase 1, also keeping in mind the end-to-end customer journey.

Phase 3: Virtual Grand Finale

All that you need to know about Myntra Stylbiz 2021: The B-School Challenge

Myntra Stylbiz is our Flagship Case Challenge that was launched in 2019. Stylbiz provides you with a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity coupled with business acumen to revolutionize the fashion-tech space. We are back with the third season of Stylbiz providing you an opportunity to work on real-world problems and exhibit your out-of-the-box thinking. The ones who make it to the finale get an opportunity to join our organization (post-interview) and contribute to our growth & grow with us.

Eligibility:

Stylbiz is open to students pursuing the 2-year full-time MBA program (Both 1st and 2nd-year students) from the eligible list of institutes.

Note: Students from ISB who are pursuing their one-year full-time PGP program are eligible to participate.

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • Students can participate individually or in teams with a maximum team size of 3.
  • Students can only form teams within their own batches.
  • Cross-specialization teams can participate.
  • Only students from the same campus can form a team.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from an Institute.
  • A participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
  • Any changes to the team constitution will not be allowed post-registration.
  • All the team members are required to verify and confirm their details to form a team.
  • Each team will have to choose one category (Product/ HR) while registering.
  • Any deviation from the above will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.

Competition Structure:

Registration 

  • This is a mandatory step. Teams will have to choose one of the two categories and register themselves. Please note that your choice cannot be changed once you have registered.
  • The case study for each category will be launched on 20th September 2021.

Phase 1: Ideation 

Please register to access the case study and pick any one or a maximum of two problem statements of your choice from the category. Think out of the box to come up with an interesting solution. While doing so, please bear in mind that if your idea is shortlisted, you will be working on an implementation plan in Phase 2.

Please submit your solution(s)/ idea(s) in the PPT format for the respective category chosen during registration. The submission must be uploaded on this site prior to the deadline. Few points to note:

  • The presentation should not exceed 10 slides for overall submission (including the title slide). Please state your assumptions and point towards reference data (if applicable).
  • The number of unique ideas submitted should not be more than three. Focus on the depth of ideas and not quantity.
  • Solutions can be for one or more problem statements from your respective category. 
  • Please note that the last submission you make will be considered as the final one.

Phase 2: The Semi-Finals 

Participants are to submit a PPT not exceeding 10 slides. Please focus on depth and details during this phase. Aspects to focus on include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Refine the ideas submitted in Phase 1; validate the ideas by customer & market research (wherever applicable)
  • A holistic approach towards implementation of the ideas presented, build mocks 
  • Build on the submitted ideas considering the end to end customer journey
  • Make sure to acknowledge the assumptions and data sources

Phase 3: Virtual Grand Finale

The final countdown begins! The top teams shortlisted from Semi-Finals will present their solution to the esteemed jury and winners will be declared.

  • The teams will be assigned a mentor from Myntra who will provide you valuable inputs prior to the Grand Finale.
  • Details of the Grand Finale will be shared subsequently with the finalists of each track.
  • The finalists will present to a panel of leaders from Myntra.

News and Facts

  • In September 2020, Myntra partnered with Indian T20 cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as their exclusive fashion partners and also appointed Samantha Akkineni as the company's brand ambassador in the South.
  • In August 2020, the company tied up with several brands to have their products delivered directly from their offline-stores, through an omnichannel network. Myntra also appointed Bollywood actor Kiara Advani as its brand ambassador in August.
  • In July 2020, Myntra went into partnership with e-commerce platforms, Namshi and Noon, in the United Arab Emirates( UAE), to expand to the middle east market.
  • Myntra organized the 12th edition of its ‘End of Reason Sale’ from June 19 to June 22, and hired 5,000 employees across its supply chain and customer care departments for the sale. 3.5 million customers shopped during the sale, and recorded about 30% growth in year-over-year (YOY) traffic during the event.
  • In April 2020, Myntra partnered with outdoor gear company Wildcraft to market high-quality personal protective masks to customers during the COVID-related lockdown.

Key People

Amar Nagaram: Currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of Myntra, Nagaram has over 15 years of experience in technology and has previously worked at Flipkart for over six years, where he led multiple teams - Mobile and Web Engineering, Product, Design, Engineering and operations.

Raghu Krishnananda: He is the chief technology officer (CTO) of Myntra. He has MBA from Stern School of Business and has helmed R&D teams in the US and India at Samsung, Yahoo, Goldman Sachs and Citibank. 

Corporate Social Responsibility

Myntra has launched and executed a number of initiatives as part of their corporate social responsibility. Some of their more recent, notable campaigns include:

  • Behind the Mask: Working with Condé Nast and India's top designers, Myntra launched a series of personal protective masks to raise awareness about wearing masks as well as raise funds for the artisans. All profits from the sales of these masks to GiveIndia.
  • Myntra Fashion Upgrade: In this campaign, the e-commerce platform partnered with delhi-based NGO GOONJ, to organize the largest collection and distribution drive of unused clothing, footwear and other items to those in need. 
  • The Myntra Extended Network through Store Activation (MENSA) initiative has provided additional income opportunities to more than 15000 Kirana store owners across 50 cities. Besides boosting Myntra’s last-mile delivery, the program has helped many men and women to earn a second income and provide a better life for their families.
  • Myntra launched the brand Taavi, to help uplift traditional Indian textile crafts and as part of the initiative, Myntra connected with over 1300 local artisans from seven states either directly or through NGOs.
