Preliminary Round - MCQs

All registered team members need to take the MCQ test individually on 1st Nov 2021, in one sitting. The MCQ test will comprise of 2 sections (Section 1 – About Philips, Section 2 - Cognitive Test), each section will have 10 questions.

Idea Submission Round

The shortlisted teams based on the MCQ performance will advance to this round. Teams have to submit their 1-slider solution latest by 14th November 11:59 PM.

Mentorship Phase

Mentor from Philips will be assigned to work on the final presentation for each team.

All that you need to know about Philips ThinkUp Challenge 2021

Philips is launching the ThinkUp Challenge 2021, a unique opportunity for you to not only think, but to think differently! Leverage the power of your thought process to outshine others.

The sharpest and the fastest minds from top B-Schools will fight it out in this 3-stage case study competition, in teams of three. You get to work on a live business problem, meet senior and seasoned professionals, and get a chance to earn yourself a PPI* and win attractive cash prizes. 

The engrossing case study will push your thought process to the limit and will challenge you like never before. Thinking will not suffice; you will have to dare to think differently! 

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • A team must consist of 3 members
  • All members of a team should be from the same institute
  • 1st and 2nd year full-time 2-year MBA students from the select list of B-Schools can participate in this competition 
  • Team can be cross specializations
  • A student cannot be a part of more than one team
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from an Institute
  • We recommend the teams to be diversified (in terms of gender and background) to bring out the diversification in thoughts
  • Students going on exchange programs can register for Philips ThinkUp Challenge, provided not more than one member of the team is going on an exchange
  • Any deviation from the above will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team

Competition Structure:

  1. Preliminary Round - MCQs: 
    • All registered team members need to take the MCQ test individually on 1st November'21, in one sitting.
    • The MCQ test will comprise of 2 sections, each section will have 10 questions
      (Section 1 – About Philips, Section 2 - Cognitive Test).
    • This must be completed in a time limit of 30 minutes.
    • All team members may attempt the quiz individually. Though it is not mandatory for all the members to take the assessment. The final score of the team will be the average score of all the team members who took the assessment. Example: If only one team member played, then the team score will be of that team member. If two team members played, one got 10 and the other got 20, then the team score will be 15 (average of 10 and 20).
  2. Case Submissions:
    • Only registered teams will get access to the case starting 3rd November'21, 07:30 PM.
    • Each team will need to submit a 1-slider PPT.
    • Ensure that no supporting documents like Excel sheets, etc., are embedded or attached with the PPT.
    • Naming Convention: InstituteName_TeamName
    • Teams need to upload the file the latest by 14th November'21, 11:59 PM on this page itself.
  3. Grand Finale:
    • The national finalists will get a chance to present to the senior leadership team.
    • Mentor from Philips will be assigned to work on the final presentation for each team.
    • Further details of the national level round will be disclosed later.

Rewards:

  • National Winner: INR 1,00,000*
  • Runner Up: INR 75,000*

*Cash prizes will be subject to tax deduction at source as per government guidelines.
