All that you need to know about SBI Business Challenge

Passion’21 in association with SBI, presents the SBI Business Challenge, a unique event that will put your managerial talents to the test against real-world industry difficulties, as well as your ability to navigate through solutions.

State Bank of India is a Fortune 500 company that provides public sector banking and financial services. It has a long history dating back over 200 years and is regarded as the most trusted bank by Indians throughout generations. Through its subsidiaries, it has also diversified into areas like insurance and mutual funds, and it wants to revolutionize banking in India by providing responsible and sustainable banking solutions to its consumers.

General Rules & Regulations:

  • All rounds will be virtual
  • Each team consists of 2-4 members
  • Registration starts on 16th January 2022 and ends on 22nd January 2022, EOD
  • All team members should be from the same institute
  • Team members can be from the first year, second year, or a combination of both. Students from the part-time, executive MBA program or undergraduate courses are not eligible to participate
  • No participant can be a part of more than one team for the same event and multiple registrations by a single participant will lead to the cancellation of candidature
  • Teams should register with a name that does not reflect the name of their B-School or the city where the college is located
  • No entries will be accepted after the deadline. Participants will not be allowed to change their entries once submitted
  • No registration fee for the event
  • Teams who do not follow the rules and regulations at any stage of the event will be disqualified
  • In case of any dispute, the decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final

Round 1: Executive Summary

  • Participating teams must come up with a Re-branding Strategy for SBI on how to make the brand more appealing to the youth
  • The submission should be in the form of a one-slider PPT containing the gist of the strategy
  • The last date of submission is 25th January 2022, EOD.
  • This will be an elimination round

Round 2: Detailed PPT

  • Shortlisted teams would need to prepare a detailed 10-slider presentation on their proposed strategy
  • Participants may project the impact of their strategy using justifiable assumptions
  • The presentation should contain a marketing strategy, an STP analysis as well as the communication strategy for the brand
  • The teams may also create a new advertisement, logo, or tagline for the brand if they deem fit
  • Points will be awarded for creativity
  • Participants should not use the name or logo of their institute anywhere in their presentation
  • The last date of submission is 29th January 2022, EOD.
  • This will be an elimination round

Round 3: Final Presentation

  • Shortlisted teams need to present their strategies to the jury which would consist of officials from SBI
  • The presentation round would be followed by a Q&A session between the jury and the teams
  • The presentation should not be more than 12 minutes followed by Q&A for 2-3 minutes
