Project Pitch Submission
2-slide PPT, choosing the sector and brand to work with. Explaining team’s understanding on Retail strategy and challenges for chosen brand and their methodology to prepare a comprehensive strategy in next round.
Presentation Round
Prepare and present a comprehensive retail strategy (maximum 5 slide) keeping the stakeholders (consumers, company, competition, collaborators) around 3 pillars for the chosen brand. The 3 pillars are - Shelf placement/Planogram, In-store marketing, and In-store salesperson engagement. Top 4 teams will present their strategy to a panel of judges on August 8th, 2021.

A platform to showcase creativity and understanding of the Retail industry to tackle challenges posed by COVID-19.
Round 1: Project Pitch Submission
For round 1, teams are supposed to choose a sector from the list below. Along with that, they must opt for a brand they wish to work on from the selected sector. Teams are required to submit a 2-slide executive summary explaining their understanding of Retail challenges for selected brands and sectors and the methodology they are planning to adopt.
The project pitch submissions will be made on the competition page itself, on the Dare2Compete website. List of sectors to choose from:
- Fresh food
- Snacks and packaged food
- Oral care
- Haircare
- Soap and detergent
Round 2: Presentation round
Based on the project pitch submissions, the top 15 teams will be shortlisted by the campus faculty of IIM B.
In round 2, teams are expected to devise a comprehensive retail strategy (maximum 5 slide) for the brand chosen in light of challenges posed by COVID and its impact on various retail categories/ verticals.
The strategy must be framed around 3 pillars:
- Shelf placement of product/planogram
- In-store promotions and shopper engagement
- In-store manpower
Top 4 teams will be shortlisted based on their submission. All 4 teams will be presenting to the judges on 8th Aug. 21, 5:30 pm. The duration of the presentation is supposed to be 7 minutes followed by a 3-minute Q&A.
Rules:
- The registrations will close by 28th July 2021.
- The round 2 cases will be accessible only to the teams that qualify round 1.
- Teams must comprise exactly 2-3 members, all of whom must be enrolled in a graduate or a post-graduate program at the time of the prospectus submission.
- An institute can have any number of teams participating. However, if a team member is found participating as a part of more than one team, all such teams shall be disqualified.
- Only the first submissions made by teams before the deadlines will be used.
- All rounds will be conducted online.
The participants must carefully read through and agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
- All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Vista, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
- The format and structure of events on campus could be subject to change before the actual beginning of the event.
- The decisions of the organizers will be final and binding on all participants.
