Trojan Horse: A Consulting Case Competition

IIM Bangalore’s International Business Summit Vista 2021, in association with ICON, the Consulting Club of IIMB, presents Trojan Horse. This event gives you the chance to slip into the shoes of a head honcho and make decisions that could spell unmatched success, financial ruin, and everything-else-in-between, for your business. It’s a multi-stage event that will test your ability to generate valuable insights and stick to your guns in the face of intense competitive pressures. Rack your brains to come up with the right solution!

Trojan Horse brings together the smartest minds in the country. They then battle it out for the coveted title of being the Best Business Strategists by providing solutions to contemporary business cases.

Round 1 (Pre-Vista Prelims)

• This round is a multiple-choice quiz to check how quick you are on your feet. Strategy, Marketing, Operations, HR, Finance, Social Science no field will go untested! Speed and number of correct answers will be the criteria for elimination. The quiz will be available on D2C from 9:30 PM - 10:00 PM on July 18, 2021.

Round 2 (Initial Case Solutions)

• Shortlisted teams will be able to access the case on D2C, to which they will be required to send their solution PPT. Time to put those MECE skills to good use! Further details, criteria for evaluation for the same will be made known in due course. Top 8 teams will make it to round 3.

Submission Details:

• The PPT can have upto 3 slides excluding cover slide and team slide. Please note it is not compulsory to make 3 slides. 3 slides are the maximum that any team is allowed to make. Brevity is appreciated.

Round 3 (Final Solution and Presentation)

• The final round will be the final case submission followed by an online case presentation, where the teams battle it out to showcase the brilliance of their solutions to an elite panel of judges. The presentation will be for 10 minutes followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

Submission Details:

• 8 slides excluding cover slide, appendix, and team slide. Please note it is not compulsory to make 8 slides. 8 slides are the maximum that any team is allowed to make. Brevity is appreciated.
• Teams may add an appendix of upto 3 slides.

Rules:

• The registrations will close by 8:00 PM, 18th July 2021.
• The Round 2 case will be accessible only to the teams that qualify round 1.
• Teams must comprise exactly 3 members, all of whom must be enrolled in a graduate or a post-graduate program at the time of the prospectus submission.
• Cross-college teams are allowed.
• An institute can have any number of teams participating. However, if a team member is found participating as a part of more than one team, all such teams shall be disqualified.
• All participants must be registered for the event on the IIMB Vista website. Any team which does not register for the event on the Vista website will be disqualified. Please register here: https://www.iimb-vista.com/2021/register/
• Only the first submissions made by teams before the deadlines will be used.
• All rounds will be conducted online.

• All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Vista, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. The format and structure of events on campus could be subject to change before the actual beginning of the event.
• The decisions of the organizers will be final and binding on all participants.
