Airtel iCreate invites young and bright minds pursuing a full-time PGP program or equivalent MBA from the list of participating campuses mentioned below:

The competition is open to all first and second-year students, irrespective of the specializations they are pursuing. The competition doesn’t invite entries from all other students currently undergoing Part-Time Program, Distance Learning Program, and the Executive MBA Program from the same list of B- schools. 

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • Students can register in teams of three.
  • The participants can be from any specialization.
  • They should be full-time students from the campus.
  • At least 1 female and 1 male participant are a must for an eligible team formation.
  • Cross-specialization teams can participate. 
  • Cross-year teams are allowed.
  • One participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from an Institute.
  • Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.

Competition Structure:

  • Case Submission: 

    • Only registered teams can access the case study problem statement.
    • The participating teams are expected to upload executive summaries of the proposed solution in the form of a ‘zip folder’ consisting of a PowerPoint presentation and a Word document (detailing the approach).
    • The templates and guidelines for these deliverables can be downloaded from the respective round.
    • The teams are free to attach any supporting material data and/or video files to support the ideas being presented.
    • The upload file size has been restricted to 20 MBs
    • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName.
    • Any changes in the timelines will be uploaded on our Instagram page @LifeatAirtel.
    • Teams need to upload this presentation/zip file latest by 6th December'20, 11:59 PM on the competition page itself.

  • Regional Round:

    • Shortlisted teams are required to submit a detailed presentation (Max 10 Slides) of the proposed solution.
    • Teams need to upload this presentation/zip file latest by 21st December'20, 11:59 PM on the competition page itself.
    • The upload file size has been restricted to 20 MBs
    • Naming Convention: TeamName_CampusName.
    • Any changes in the timelines will be uploaded on our Instagram page @LifeatAirtel.

  • Grand Finale:

    • The 15 National Finalists will get a chance to present their solutions to Airtel's senior leadership team. 
    • Further details of the grand finale will be disclosed closer to the grand finale date.

Rewards:

The 3 winning entries in the Grand Finale will be given a cash prize of Rs. 17,50,000 wherein:

  • 1st Prize- 10 lakhs
  • 2nd Prize- 5 lakhs
  • 3rd Prize- 2.5 lakhs

All the winners will be getting PPI or incubation opportunity to work with Airtel Incubation Team on real-life assignments. Apart from this, there will be 3 consolation prizes given out to the next 3 best teams. Apart from this, there will be multiple prizes, goodies, vouchers for Campus and Regional winners as well.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • In February 2021, Airtel agreed to acquire a 20% stake in Bharti Telemedia from Warburg Pincus.
  • Telenor India: In the 1st quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel acquired a formal approval from Securities and Exchange Board of India for the acquisition of Telenor India, from which the telecommunication giant gained 43.4 MHz spectrum in the 1800 MHz band.
  • Tikona Digital Networks: In the 2nd quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel completed the acquisition of Tikona Digital Networks Private Limited for approximately Rs. 1600 crore. This gave Airtel access to the latter’s 350 cellular sites in 5 circles.
  • Millicom International Cellular: In the 3rd quarter of the financial year 2017-18, Airtel Rwanda acquired Millicom International Cellular to combine their telecommunications operations in Ghana. This acquisition was approved by Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) in the 4th quarter of the FY 2017-18.

  • Airtel has more than 17,263 employees in India and South Asia and more than 3,530 employees in Africa.
  • Based on a UN Report dated January 1, 2013, Airtel covers 24% of the total world population.
