Round 1: The Pitch

The deliverables need to be submitted in not more than 2 slides on Dare2Compete as per guidelines mentioned in the case brief. Deadline for Round 1 submission is 4th October ‘20.

Round 2: The Plan

Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will move to Round 2. In this round, teams need to develop the idea further and submit the plan on Dare2Compete as per guidelines mentioned in the case brief for round 2. (It may be accompanied with supporting multimedia/prototype as required). Deadline for Round 2 submission is 17th Nov ’20.

Round 3: The Semi-Finale

Shortlisted teams from Round 2 will move as semi-finalists in Round 3. Teams present their plans in a CXO Boardroom role play format to CP Jury Panel in this round. Assured place in the Grand Finale for campuses with 3 or more teams making it to this stage. Tentative timeline for the Semi Finale: Nov- Dec’20.

Round 4: The Grand Finale / National Round

Semi Finale winners will move to the Ultimate Round as Grand Finale/ National Round finalists. They will present to the Leadership Team of CP India. Tentative timeline for the Grand Finale: Dec’20- Jan’21. The award ceremony and declaring the Winners / Runners-up (PPI winners) will be on the same day as the National Round.

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • Teams from select B-Schools will be eligible to participate in this competition.
  • A team will consist of 3 members (students), one of whom would be the team leader.
  • All members of a team should be from the same institute.
  • Cross-specialization teams can participate.
  • A team can consist of 1st or 2nd year or both, irrespective of the specialization.
  • A student cannot be a part of more than one team.
  • Only full-time, two-year MBA program students can participate in the case study.
  • There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
  • Students going on exchange programs can register provided they register as part of a 3-member team, in which not more than one member is going on an exchange.
  • Modification of team post registration will not be allowed.

Competition Rounds & Important Dates:

Registration: Teams must register on the Dare2Compete website latest by 25th Sept 2020.

Registered teams get access to the case study from 16th September onwards.

Round 1: The Pitch

Terms & Conditions:

The participants are required to go through the following Terms & Conditions before registering for the event:

  • All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity & final judgments will be with Colgate.
  • The format, structure & timelines of events are subject to change before the actual beginning of the event.
  • If a team fails to submit an entry before the timeline, Colgate holds the right to disqualify the team from the competition.
  • Each team has to resubmit their entry before every round. If it fails to do the same, Colgate holds the right to withdraw their name from the competition.
  • Disputes, if any, will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai only.

  • In 2005, Colgate sold the under-performing brands Fab, Dynamo, Arctic Power, ABC, Cold Power and Fresh Start, and the license of the Ajax brand for laundry detergents in the United States and Canada to Phoenix brands, LLC. This was a part of the company's plan to focus on higher-margin oral, personal, and pet care products.
  • In 2006, Colgate-Palmolive announced the intended acquisition of a leading maker of natural toothpaste, Tom's of Maine, for $100 million. Today, Colgate has numerous subsidiary organizations spanning over 200 countries.
