The HCL Better Health Hackathon is being organized with the aim to #CodeForCovid19 and to build a better future.

Eligibility:

The Better Health Hackathon: #CodeForCovid19 is a global hackathon open to all participants over the age of 18.

How Does It Work?

Sign up, form a team, choose a problem or identify your own challenge from the four themes below, start coding to build a solution under the mentorship of experts, qualify for the finals and get ready to be judged by an elite panel.

Step 1 - Signup: NOW!

  • Register now and start working and engaging with mentors as soon as you sign up.
  • Choose from one of the 4 tracks. Your project doesn't have to fit perfectly into any one track, it could be a mix and match of several (or all of them).
  • If you are signing up alone, BeMyApp will help you to find a team.
  • If you sign up as a team, you can sign up together and work on the platform through separate user accounts.

Step 2 - Virtual Hackathon

  • We are holding a 2-month virtual hackathon on a dedicated platform for ideation. Get mentorship, healthcare and industry advice, as well as technical support and resources for your project from numerous companies.
  • We’ll have webinars and online support to make sure that by month two, you’ll have a working prototype or production-ready demo to pitch to the panel if selected as a finalist.

Step 3 - Final Pitches

  • After the submission deadline, we select up to 25 finalist teams.
  • Schedule a pitch session: Teams can "Tele-pitch" their project by booking a session with panel members live.
  • The top two winners will receive cash prizes, as well as challenge prizes for the top project of each category.

  • Shiv Nadar- Founder and Chairman: the Founder and Chairman of HCL Enterprise, Shiv Nadar is recognized as being one of the pioneers of the computing and IT industry in India. over 40 years, HCL has continued to ride the waves of the changing IT landscape and remains at the forefront of every technological revolution since 1976. Flagship Projects launched by the HCL Foundation:

  • GCL Samuday: launched in 2014, HCL Samuday is HCL Foundation’s drive to advance a sustainable, scalable, and replicable design – source code for economic and social growth of rural regions. Currently, this is being done in 765 villages from 164 Gram Panchayats of Uttar Pradesh
  • HCL Grant: launched in 2015, HCL Grant is the CSR initiative by HCL to strengthen and empower NGOs, engage with them, as well as recognize them for their path-breaking work. Through this project, the HCL Foundation is committed to funding ₹15 Crores (US$2.3Million) for the year 2018 – 19. 
  • Power of One: the Power of One project of HCL Foundations aims at creating a platform for HCL employees to come forward, volunteer for social causes and contribute towards the process of nation-building. Currently, approximately 38,000 HAC employees in India are contributing ₹1 per day under this program.
  • HCL Uday: HCL Uday is the Urban CSR program launched by the HCL Foundation, to work towards equitable and sustainable development of the communities living below the poverty line in the Urban areas.
