Prarambh - A Quiz and B-Plan Competition

Rules for Participation

'Prarambh' is a B-Plan competition that will be conducted by the Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur. The event is for MBA/PGDM aspirants who want to get admitted to any Postgraduate Management program in 2020. The competition comprises of 3 rounds. The details for the rounds are given below.

Team Size: 2 members

Registration: January 03, 2020 - January 18, 2020

Eligibility: Candidates appearing/appeared for CAT 2019 or XAT 2020 or CMAT 2020 or GMAT (taken between January 1, 2016 - March 31, 2020)

Round 1: Quiz

Date: January 19, 2020 (8:00 PM – 8:20 PM)

• It is an online round wherein teams will be given a quiz that has to be solved within the stipulated time (20 minutes).
• The quiz will be based on general topics like business affairs, brands, Indian economy, environment, to name a few.
• It would contain objective type (MCQs) and one-word answer questions.

*Please note that the quiz will be available only for the time duration mentioned, i.e. 8 - 8:20 PM on Jan. 19, 2020.

**This is not an elimination round. The quiz score carries a weightage of 25% in the final evaluation.

Round 2: B-Plan Submission (Open Now)

Submission Last Date: January 22, 2020

• Guidelines for the B-Plan are mentioned below.
• Submission of the B-Plan shall be done by the participants via e-mail. The mail id for the same is prarambh.imt@gmail.com
• Teams failing to adhere by the deadline shall be disqualified.
• Teams can send their submission anytime between Jan 3 and Jan 22, 2020.

*This round carries a weightage of 35 % in the final evaluation.

Round 3: B-Plan Presentation on IMT Nagpur Campus

Date: January 24-25, 2020

• The final round of the competition will be held in the campus of IMT Nagpur.
• Participants are required to give a presentation on their B-Plan to the judges who will be evaluating the teams.

*This round carries a weightage of 40% in the final evaluation. 

Please Note:

1. Please adhere to the deadlines. No application forms shall be accepted beyond the aforementioned date.
2. Participants are required to produce their CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT Admit Card during round 3.
3. For the teams coming for Round 3, travel expenses shall be reimbursed by the college. (*Applicable only for to and fro AC 3 Tier train fares with the shortest route. Maximum cap for the two way fare is Rs. 5,000.)
4. Accommodation and food shall be provided in-house at the IMT Nagpur campus.
5. Teams are required to mail their confirmation of participation in Round 3 over the e-mail (prarambh.imt@gmail.com) by January 22, 2020. 
6. None of the rounds are elimination rounds.

Prizes:

1. Prize Money (Cash Prize) – Rs. 30,000 (Winner) and Rs. 20,000 (1^st Runner-Up)
2. Prizes worth Rs. 10,000 shall be provided to the next 2 best performing teams.
3. Teams submitting their B-Plans in round 2 will be provided with a digital certificate from IMT Nagpur.
4. All teams appearing for the final round in IMT Nagpur campus, shall be provided with a participation certificate.

B-Plan Submission Framework:

The following guidelines are to be kept in mind while writing the B-Plan:

1. Name of your business idea
2. Executive summary of your idea (300-500 words)
3. Problem description
4. Target audience
5. Unique value proposition
6. Business network (Collaborators/Service Providers)
7. Competitor analysis
8. Cost structure
9. Revenue model and projection for 3 years
10. Promotional strategies

Please note that all the above-mentioned topics should be covered in the B-Plan you submit. Participants are free to add any additional details of their business plan.

The file should be named as YourTeamName_YourBusinessName. The file should be sent in a PDF format ONLY. All submissions are to be mailed to prarambh.imt@gmail.com
